My Centaures

Postby 20's Plenty » Sun Aug 23, 2015 11:18 am

Hi all,
about six months ago i acquired Centaure 4997, it has an Ormsby engraved cylinder on it, but the numbers did not match, having 20 stamped on it.

Recently i learned of two more Centaures and decided to get them having been impressed with the accuracy and build quality.
One is 4920 and the other is a civilian c378in its original box with leaflet sold here in the UK and appears to be unfired. When i went to complete the data sheets for these two upon dismantling 4920 i discovered the cylinder numbers did not match again but had 97 stamped on it, so i swopped cylinders and returned two Centaures to their original numbers- what are the chances??
4920 needs a bit of work as it has a broken fork and the nipples had been soldered in and the civilian is as yet unfired.

The one with the Ormsby Scene is a rare find in Europe. let alone the UK.
