Pistols for Elder Statesman Duelist

Postby Long Johns Wolf » Mon Dec 18, 2017 10:31 am

I had this itching ... again ... and this old 2nd gen Colt 1861 Navy from 1980 - 3-screw Frame silver plated TG & BS - in my safe and a 2017 made Uberti Colt 1861 Navy - 4-screw Frame blued BS & TG, too.
They got this special treatment from Austrian conversion artist Karl Nedbal.
Karl transformed them into historical correct Richards-Mason conversions in .38 Long Colt cal.
He also shortend their barrels to a handy 6.5", installed the liners and added higher front sights for good measure.
Unfortunately, the Vienna Proof house did not approve that the two C&B cylinders were used for the conversion.
Because in their C&B state the pockets for the nipples had been bored too deep by their respective factories.
Hence, he lathed two new cylinders, properly chambered for the .38 Long Colt cartridge but without cylinder scene.
What do you say?
